Patron Saint

St. Cecilia was born to a noble Christian Roman family around 214 A.D. She excelled in music: a gift she consecrated to God by composing hymns in His honour. As was normal in those days, she had an arranged marriage to Valerian whom she converted to Christianity. This was a time in history when Christians were persecuted. She was arrested shortly after the martyrdom of her two brothers, and died a martyr’s death on November 22, 230 A.D. Very little is known of her life. She is the patron saint of music and our school.
